Education and Distribution of B-Free Cups

Education and Distribution of B-Free Cups

  • Empowering Women and Girls: Impact of CEPAD WN’s Initiatives in Imvepi
Supported by European Union Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) in partnership with CARE International in Uganda, CEPAD WN continues to drive impactful initiatives that empower women and girls in the Imvepi refugee settlement and surrounding host areas.

Menstrual Hygiene Management & B-Free Cup Distribution

In Zone 1 of the Imvepi refugee settlement and surrounding host areas, CEPAD WN has been at the forefront of educating communities on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and distributing B-Free cups. This initiative goes beyond menstrual health, incorporating education on sexual and reproductive health rights, sexually transmitted diseases, and gender-based violence (GBV).
The overwhelming participation of adolescents and parents underscores the community’s commitment to supporting young girls in managing their health with dignity and confidence.
Key Impact Areas:

  • Reduced School Dropouts & Teenage Pregnancies –By addressing menstrual health challenges and reproductive education, we contribute to reducing school dropouts and early pregnancies.
  • Parental & Community Leader Engagement – Strengthened support networks for young girls ensure sustained impact beyond program interventions.
  • Technology’s Role in Social Structures – Raising awareness of technology’s influence helps guide responsible digital engagement.
  • B-Free Cup Adoption & Efficiency – Empowering young girls with sustainable menstrual products promotes long-term well-being.

Sustainable Livelihoods: Craft and Knitting Start-up Material Distribution

To ensure the sustainability of women’s and girls’ craft and knitting skills, CEPAD WN provided start-up materials to 60 trained individuals. By forming groups that include both refugee and host community members, we foster collaboration, shared learning, and economic empowerment.

Key Outcomes:

  • Economic Empowerment – Women and girls now have resources to earn a living through craftsmanship.
  • Community Responsibility – Participants embrace teamwork, resource-sharing, and reinvestment for long-term sustainability.
  • Inclusivity & Skill Development – Broader community engagement promotes a culture of learning and entrepreneurship.

GBV & Protection Services

CEPAD WN ensures that GBV survivors receive timely and appropriate responses, including referrals for specialized support.

  • 13 PSNs (Persons with Specific Needs) identified, with 7 successfully referred for special support.
  • 16 Days of Activism participation, strengthening advocacy for women’s and girls’ rights.

Raising Awareness Through Community Education
