Community Sensitization March 2021.

CEPAD WN organized a Ten (10) days sensitization in nine (9) villages of both refugees and the host communities in Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement about causes of conflicts and how they can avoid conflict so as to have relatively peaceful societies in the settlement. The sensitization was done in the villages of Agulupi, Simbili, Katiku 1, 2, and 3, Ocea A, B, C and the host communities by Community-Based Mobilizers.

The main aim of this sensitization is to create awareness in the community of conflict triggers and early warning signs and to engage communities in dialogue to avoid conflict escalations within the communities in the settlement. This part of the Project CEPAD WN is implementing ““Promoting inter community engagements (dialogue) for peace, reconciliation and social cohesion”. Which is to run for period of eleven Months with support from IFA (Institut fur Auslandsbezeihungen)

The Community Based Mobilisers where able reach out to One Hundred forty nine (149) households where they interacted with Five hundred fourteen people composed of two hundred seventy nine (279) Male and four hundred thirty Seven (437) Female.
